The All New 2010 Buick Lacrosse Has Arrived in Gainesville!
We are super excited that the 2010 Lacrosse has touched down at Wade Raulerson Buick-GMC here in Central Florida! We still have a handful of 2009 Buick's that must go as well and we are also expecting the all new GMC Terrain for 2010 to drop off the truck around mid month! Cash for Clunkers in Gainesville, FL??? Are you confued yet? Cause I'm not! Well actually we are all still a little confused!
Ok --- truth be told...the new "Cash for Clunkers" program is confusing. So I am here to help. Well let me try to help, or ummm --- un-confuse you!

It's like a bad Jeff Foxworthy joke, "you might be a Clunker if..." but let's face it --- it's a government program, so it's confusing! Let's start with the basics:
First off is Wade Raulerson Pontiac, Buick, GMC an "authorized" "registered" home for the government's Cash for Clunkers program?
Why yes we are! In fact, if you need immediate assistance you can call 352-372-2583 and ask for General Sales Manager Brett Morgan.
Is your current vehicle a clunker?
Good question.
Do you owe money on your current trade in? If the answer is yes, than it's not a clunker --- it's a "trade in" though --- and you will want bring it into Wade Raulerson still for trade in appraisal.
So if you have kept reading, I can only assume you hold clear title to your possible clunker, now:
Have you had the vehicle registered and insured in your name for the past year?
If yes...your vehicle may indeed be a clunker...
Now what you need to do is make sure that the government considers your trade in to have a "combined" mpg rating of 18 miles-per-gallon or lower. You can use fueleconomy.gov to compare your vehicle side by side with the vehicle you are considering to buy. You can also go to gm.com; they currently have a great tool up to help you guage the amount of your CARS rebate. Remember the CARS program is only good on new vehicle purchases and typically the rules want to see you in a vehicle class or a specific vehicle that out-performs your current ride (meaning they don't want to see you leaving your current Pontiac Vibe for a GMC Sierra 2500 Diesel truck!). The Toyota Matrix and the Pontiac Vibe
Did you know?
It's a little known fact that the Toyota Matrix and the Pontiac Vibe are almost one in the same. The Vibe is all Pontiac style on the outside but on the inside lies Toyota fit-and-finish and either the Toyota Corolla's 1.8L Engine or the Toyota 2.4L Carmy VVT-I engine.
So if you are shopping for a 2009 / 2010 Toyota Matrix here in Gainesville why wouldn't you take a look at the Vibe? It's got a stronger Powertrain Warranty (5 years / 100K Miles) than Toyota's (5 years / 60K Miles) better rebate support from the factory (cheaper price) and you can support an American car builder. DealersEdge has found that there is no much that is truly new in auto retailing, but we had not heard of this approach to selling cars before. Have you?
As the Gainesville Guardian reports, Wade Raulerson Buick, Pontiac, GMC in Gainesville, Florida, wants to hire a group of 50 independent sales representatives to generate sales referrals and earn a per-unit commission for doing so. No specific education or experience is required.
The dealership is running a want ad looking for people who are at least 18-years-old with a driver's license and a phone. The independent reps will provide leads and make referrals to people who are in the market for a car. In return, the reps will be paid $250 for each resulting sale.
There is a short training session. Those who complete the training will earn $100.
The independent reps will not work in the dealership. The will be out in the community trying to generate referrals.
The set up envisions independent reps working part-time to supplement their incomes. In order to be considered “independent” the sales reps are permitted to have other jobs, as long as the other job doesn’t compete with the dealership. They will set their own hours.
The question again: Is this a new idea or have you heard of similar efforts by car dealers?

Curious as to the next "big" thing coming from GMC?
Ok, so what if I told you the next "big" thing coming from GMC, was actually a smaller SUV than they already offer...something in the crossover segment (better fuel economy but with GM truck-grade quality and rugged good looks!). Wouldn't you say that is something to be excited about? There isn't a whole lot out there in the crossover segment that has much guts (or character) - if you ask me. Well you haven't met the all new 2010 GMC Terrain. If you want to wonder onto the GMC website (www.gmc.com) for some teaser info they are finally getting some details and specifics to dealers and consumers. I am pumped and so is everyone here at Wade Raulerson Buick, Pontiac, GMC!

My brain hurts...but May is over!
And it should...
Tony D (our General Manager here at Wade Raulerson) and myself have been working like dogs. I am up to 17 days straight without a breather and I believe he's had 1 day off in 25 days!
It's paid off ... the guys have done such a tremendous job and I can't thank our loyal customers enough. We delivered 26 cars in 4 days to close the month of May and to actually give ourselves a shot at surviving this mess! We have purchased 30 additional new retail units - some great quality vehicles and it was like a great shot in the arm for our inventory!
I know the news was dominated yesterday by GM's news of bankruptcy and restructuring but we know that we have better days coming. It seems that the news about Pontiac has finally come full circle -- customers are beginning to pay attention to the "value" story that we have been talking about for so long. A lot of vehicle, a great warranty -- at great prices (which will continue).
Did you know the Pontiac Solstice is based off the Lotus Elise chassis? (We have a hardtop version of the Solstice on our lot right now in Gainesville - you really need to see this car; in fact maybe I'll post a picture later).
Did you know that the Pontiac Vibe is a joint venture with Toyota with a stronger warranty (same vehicle as the Matrix but with Pontiac style and GM 5/100K Warranty!)?
Did you the Pontiac G8 will be the last great rear-wheel drive V8 that Pontiac builds? In the same breath as the classic GTO?
Anyway I'd keep blogging on but bottom line is this: Wade Raulerson Buick, Pontiac, GMC is here to stay - we were taking orders on some new deals this morning and we also received a letter from General Motors. Basically it stated that we are a "marquee" GM dealer and that we will be a large part of GM as they continue to move on as a healthier enterprise. God bless us all --- these days have been stressful! Thank you all for your support, love, help and of course your business! We have met some fascinating people these past few days!

GM brings heavy Pontiac incentives just in time for Memorial Day...
0% for 72 months! On Pontiac G5, G6 and G8!
This is huge. Only through Tuesday May 26th.
Everyone has been asking -- with the recent Pontiac news what GM was going to do at the dealer level. Well today we found out. Very aggressive programs for consumers out there...
I was speaking with our GM today, we are absolutely convinced that the 2009 Pontiac G8 will be a collectors item of somekind. It's Pontiac's last true performance vehicle with great fit and finish, strong design and decent gas mileage to boot!
Also don't tell anyone I told you -- but we have a tiny bit of additional dealer incentive to increase our discount to the consumer. Now is the time to buy.

Advertising in the Car Biz
Let's face it car dealers are shameless - we will do about anything to get in front of you in the hope of earning an opportunity to "sell" you a car. Let's also face it, times are tougher than ever on car dealers.
But I have learned one thing -- sometimes advertising in a way that is too "edgy" and/or "misguiding" just isn't worth it. The strain it creates on your employees and customers just becomes to great even if you are selling cars.
And while I always would like to think the people that do constantly walk a "blurry" line don't prosper from it --- I know also that may simply be "wishful thinking."
Cough-Cough. Just opened up the Gainesville Sun. Love this disclaimer from a specific local car dealer: *All prices with $4,000 cash or trade equity. That means that the price you are seeing - or reading ... is not the true price ... it has been reduced by four thousand cause they assume you have a 4,000 dollar trade or that kind of money just laying around.
In these times very few of my customers who need money down have it - so to blatantly assume 4K is a pretty great "stretch." Interesting "trickery" indeed.
